Julia Gulliver is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in ear, nose, and throat care at Maryland ENT. She brings advanced training and a caring approach to help patients with a wide range of ENT conditions.
Ms. Gulliver completed specialized training as a Nurse Practitioner in otolaryngology through Denver Health’s APP Specialty Intensive Residency program. During this training, she learned to perform important procedures like flexible laryngoscopy (using a thin, flexible camera to examine the throat and voice box), detailed ear examinations using specialized microscopes, and safe earwax removal – skills that she now utilizes every day during patient care at Maryland ENT.
This focused training allows her to diagnose and treat both common and complex ENT problems. She also has experience with minor surgical procedures, including removing cysts and skin lesions, which helps her provide comprehensive care to her patients.
Ms. Gulliver earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston, MA, where she was recognized as a Dean Scholar with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from UC Davis, graduating Cum Laude.
Her clinical training took place at some of the nation’s top hospitals, including Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston as well as at primary care clinics serving at-risk and underrepresented populations in Colorado. These experiences have given her a strong foundation in patient care and medical excellence.
She pursued a post-graduate Nurse Practitioner residency program to gain additional training in a variety of medical and surgical specialties, which is where she discovered her passion for the ear, nose, and throat specialty.
Ms. Gulliver maintains current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and CPR, ensuring she’s prepared to handle any emergency situation.
Ms. Gulliver believes in taking time to listen to her patients and explaining treatments in ways that are easy to understand. She brings experience from her nursing background in the perioperative setting, so she knows how to make the medical experience as comfortable as possible for patients.
She has volunteered her medical skills internationally and co-founded an organization focused on helping underserved communities access healthcare. This experience reflects her commitment to caring for all patients with respect and compassion.
