Youssef El Sayed Ahmad, MD, FEBORL-HNS

Rhinology Fellow

Dr. Youssef El Sayed Ahmad is a highly trained otolaryngologist and rhinology fellow at Maryland ENT, specializing in the treatment of advanced nose and sinus disorders. He brings international expertise and years of training to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex sinus conditions, nasal breathing problems, and related ENT issues.

Rhinology Fellowship and Specialized Training

Dr. Ahmad is currently completing his rhinology fellowship at The Maryland Nose and Sinus Center, where he focuses exclusively on advanced sinus surgery and nasal disorders. This specialized training has equipped him with expertise in the latest minimally invasive techniques for treating chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, deviated septum, and other complex sinus conditions.

His fellowship training includes advanced endoscopic sinus surgery techniques, balloon sinuplasty, and management of complex cases, including revision sinus surgery. He also has extensive experience in treating epistaxis (nosebleeds), particularly in challenging cases such as hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), which he has researched extensively.

International Medical Education

Dr. Ahmad earned his Fellow of the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (FEBORL-HNS) certification in November 2024, demonstrating his expertise at the highest international standards. He completed specialized medical training in otolaryngology at both the Lebanese University and the University of Toulouse III in France, gaining a unique perspective on global approaches to ENT care.

His medical education includes training at prestigious institutions across multiple countries, including clinical experience at the University Hospital of Tübingen in Germany. This international background allows him to bring diverse perspectives and the latest global techniques to his patient care.

Research and Publications

Dr. Ahmad is an active researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading ENT journals. His research focuses on practical improvements to patient care, including studies on pediatric tonsillectomy outcomes, vestibular schwannoma management, and innovative treatments for epistaxis.

He has authored publications in the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology, European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, and The Journal of Laryngology & Otology. He is also a peer reviewer for multiple medical journals and has presented his research at national and international medical conferences, including the American Rhinologic Society annual meeting.

Professional Memberships and Continuing Education

Dr. Ahmad maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), American Rhinologic Society (ARS), and Confederation of European Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He regularly participates in advanced training workshops, including recent courses in eustachian tube balloon dilation and sinonasal surgical techniques.
