I was set to get my tonsils removed with another doctor at a different hospital, but my gut feeling said to cancel and go to UF Health. I made an appointment with Dr. Halawi and was seen the next day. Dr. Halawi spent more time with me than I would have expected and worked with me to fit in my surgery as soon as possible. She even gave me optional alternatives to surgery options, but I was set on having the tonsillectomy. The surgery was well over an hour because Dr. Halawi took her time and did a fantastic job. I know so many others who have had a tonsillectomy with other doctors and went through a nightmare recovery (some the same week as myself). My recovery was a dream. I elected to not have any sedatives prior to surgery and woke up feeling great. I did only soft foods the first day, but the second day I at Chick-Fil-A (although I had to write down my order since I could not talk). It has been nearly 3 months since surgery... I would 100% recommend to everyone I know.

Dr. Shikani and his team are efficient and professional. They were able to schedule my septoplasty within a month. All of the instructions for recovery were helpful and spot on. My breathing has never been better thanks to Dr. Shikani and his magic surgery fingers. I was in, out, and home in no time. Thank you Dr. Shikani!!

Dr Shikani, is an amazing doctor. His bed side manners with my child blew me away. Our interactions are usually the typical doctor patient relationship, but when my daughter came in he lit up and so did she. She forgot all about her favorite Doctor that left the practice but now she cant stop talking about her Dr Shikani.
